I combine over 30 years of experience in trading, investment, risk management, and financial market infrastructure with 16 years in Swiss local politics and deep technical expertise in crypto and artificial intelligence.
My Background
Politically liberal and pragmatic, I have spent decades navigating both the technology and public policy landscapes. My career bridges the worlds of financial markets, technology, and public administration — a combination that gives me a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation.
Professional Career
After studying Economics at the University of Zurich, I built my career in institutional trading and investment. Over three decades, I worked in the trading, investment, and hedge fund industry as well as financial market infrastructure, focusing on market making, portfolio management, and risk management.
From 2016 to 2025, I served at SIX Swiss Exchange — Switzerland's stock exchange and one of Europe's most important financial market infrastructure providers. As Senior Business Architect, I led a team at the intersection of product management and IT, jointly responsible for product development and advancing trading and post-trade systems.
DeFi & Web3
In parallel with my work at SIX, I became deeply involved in Decentralized Finance starting in 2021 — not just theoretically, but hands-on as a DeFi advisor:
- FormationFi (2021–2023): Advisory for a cross-chain yield aggregation protocol based on the risk parity hedge fund strategy
- Every.Finance (2023–2025): Strategic advisory for a DeFi platform
- Elyx.Finance (since 2025): Ongoing advisory in fully automated decentralized financial products
This experience gives me deep understanding of both the opportunities and risks of Web3 technologies — and the ability to translate between traditional finance and DeFi.
Political Engagement
Since 2010, I have been active in local politics in my home municipality of Langnau am Albis:
- 2010–2018: Municipal Council Member, Finance & Taxation
- Since 2018: Mayor (Gemeindepräsident)
Eight years on the municipal council and eight years as mayor have shown me how public administrations work, where digitalization potential lies, and which solutions actually work in practice. This knowledge feeds directly into my advisory work — especially when it comes to AI solutions for municipalities and public administrations.
